The Green Mountain Byway travels through several Vermont’s towns between the spine of the northern Green Mountains to the west and the peaks of the Worcester Range to the east. driving through this road provides spectacular views of open meadows, farmland and forests, all with a fantastic mountain backdrop. Historic homes, farmsteads, villages, mill sites, the Waterbury Reservoir and three state parks are accessible along the route.

The range is primarily located in Gunnison County, with small parts in eastern Delta and Montrose counties., mixing a beautiful array of gold, orange and red that you simply can’t miss.

When driving through Glacier National Park, it’s best to go late September, early October to really catch the colors changing. The forest’s elegant mix of colors is a unique addition to a perfect background of snow-covered mountains.
